Camp ROC Star's founder, Elvio Fernandes of Rochester, NY, was offered the chance of a lifetime...to join DAUGHTRY for his upcoming North America Tour. Elvio will hit the road in February to begin rehearsing and kick things off right here in Buffalo at Shea's Theatre on March 20th. Tickets are on-sale right now here.

Elvio will be playing keyboard, vocals, and some acoustic guitar. This is going to be fun!

Camp ROC Star, founded by Uncle Plum singer / guitarist / keyboardist Elvio Fernandes, is a week-long day-camp that provides aspiring rock musicians, ages 10-17, with an unforgettable learning and performance experience that will improve their playing skills, increase their confidence, foster collaboration with others and inspire them to find the artist within themselves.  Over the five days, these ROC stars will be mentored by some of Upstate New York’s most talented and experienced musicians/instructors.  Each camper will be placed in a Camp ROC Band, rehearse an original composition or cover song, participate in group seminars held by professionals in the music industry, and receive instruction on individual instruments.  On Friday evening, the bands will put on a stage performance in front of friends and family with full production, sound system, and light show.  Singers, guitarists, keyboardists, bassists and drummers, age 10-17, with at least one year experience welcome.

The crowd was filling the seats and back stage everyone was getting their groove on. While nerves were upside down, each one of them had  a determined look in their eyes. The bands were introduced like a headline act and one by one they took control of the stage and had the crowd standing. Incredible show!

Thanks to all my ROC stars for making me so proud and giving me the opportunity to work with all of you :) If there was a way to do this every week of the year.... I absolutely would!...

We've got 5 bands playing tunes from Adele, Foo Fighters, Maroon 5, and Green Day.... And they sound great for only having 2 days of practice!! It's really amazing how well these kids came together from different backgrounds and formed a band, playing together for the very first time. The days are going by so fast and we keep hearing from the campers, if we can go another week. 3 days until showtime and we have so much to cover by Friday! Get some rest tonight and be ready to go tomorrow.

29 kids meet for the much anticipated Monday morning "Ride to School". This year we stepped it up a notch and got our very own tour bus to start camp out in style. Check out the video on ROC Star TV...awesome fun. Each camp has grown in size and talent and this year is no exception with some promising musicians...no doubt. Definitely some added energy to the group with some CSR veterans returning and a bunch of new faces waiting eagerly to perform their audition in front of everybody.
